Register for the Yard Sale April 5 -30 online at www.auburnwa.gov/solidwaste or pick up a registration form at the City Hall Utility Counter located at 1 Main St., the Parks & Recreation Building at 910 Ninth St. SE or the Senior Activity Center at 808 Ninth St. SE. Yard Sale weekend will be June 4-6. Participants who register by April 30 will have their address listed in two newspaper advertisements and on the City website. If you miss the registration period, you can still pick up a FREE Yard Sale Kit or download materials from the City's website. Yard Sale Kits will be available for download after April 5. Branches New Arrivals Every week at Branches the greenhouses and garden center are looking more and more like spring. Fresh primroses continue to arrive for the weekend. Tete-a-tete daffodils are blooming and looking bright. Our bright red and pink cyclamen look just like Valentine's Day.
Speaking of Valentine's Day, it is not too early to order flowers for that special someone in your life. We will have roses, mixed bouquets, custom gift baskets, beautiful mixed plantings, as well as a wide array of unique items available in our gift shop that are sure to please. We also have gift certificates available in any amount. At Branches we truly have all that you need to say "I love you" to that special someone in your life.
We have received several shipments of new pottery from China and Malaysia. It is beautiful and at great prices. There are many new styles and colors for this season that you will want to be sure and check out. You are sure to find some great pottery at reasonable prices. Remember to shop early for the best selection. There has been a lot going on at Branches over the last few weeks and things won't be slowing down anytime soon. Fruit Trees - our spring shipment of fruit trees will arrive the first week of February. Blueberries - we have a wide variety of blueberries will arrive February 2nd. We have blueberries for early, mid and late season. For a list of some of the different types of blueberries that we carry check out our website. Roses - over 900 roses will be on their way to Branches and will arrive the week of February 7th. Check out our rose list on our website to see the great selection that we carry. We carry only the highest quality roses that are proven winners in the NW. Bare root trees and roses adjust to your soil easily and are ready and easy to plant. Its going to be a great weekend!!!!! Phil Slater starts us off on Friday night at 5:00pm with his great songs of the 60's, 70's and 80's. Adult Dodgeball Now Available Through Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation department is now accepting team and/or individual registration for adult, co-ed dodgeball leagues. Dodgeball promotes maximum social enjoyment and can give you a good overall workout that requires minimal equipment, set up or playing experience. Use teamwork, strategy and enthusiasm as you dodge, jump and throw with this fun game that offers a great cardio workout as well. Each team will play eight games on Thursdays. Team or individual registrations will be accepted. Early registration ends January 20, 2010. Fee is $175 per team or $20/$27 per individual. Your generosity will add some sparkle to the lives of at-risk children, senior citizens, and/or developmentally and physically disabled individuals during the holiday season.

Branches Garden Center is a Must for the Holiday Season If you haven't had the opportunity to visit Branches Garden Center you must stop by and see all of their wonderful Christmas decorations. I picked up several things to decorate my house for Thanksgiving. They have one of kind decorations for all seasons. Plan on spending some time to look around.

Santa Arrives at the SuperMall If you haven't been to the SuperMall during the holidays you are missing a real treat. The entire Mall is transformed into a Holiday Wonderland. On Friday, November 6th starting at 10am Santa will arrive. His hours are Monday through Saturday, 10am to 9pm (breaks 1-2pm & 5:15-6pm) Sundays 11am to 6pm (break 2-3pm) Santa will be there through Thursday, December 24th until 6pm.

WHITE RIVER VALLEY MUSEUM ANNOUNCES FREE SUNDAYS The continued down economy and popularity of the current exhibit "Suffer for Beauty: A Revealing Look at Women's History Through Undergarments" has prompted the White River Valley Museum board of directors to offer free admission on Sunday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct. 25. "Suffer for Beauty" runs through Nov. 8.
Free admission will also be offered on Sunday, Nov. 22 in celebration of "Small Works, Big Presents: The Gift of Art" exhibit and sale that opens Nov. 18 and runs through Dec. 20. The White River Valley Museum and Auburn Arts Commission recently announced a call to artists for "Small Works, Big Presents." Information and full submission guidelines are available at www.auburnwa.gov/arts.
White River Valley Museum will continue free Sundays in 2010. The fourth Sunday of each month will be free.
The free Sundays are in addition to White River Valley Museum's weekly free Wednesdays. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Regular admission is $2 adults, $1 seniors and children.

Sandbags for Auburn Residents Available Beginning Oct. 15 Sandbags for Auburn Residents Available Beginning Oct. 15 Sarah Miller, Emergency Preparedness Manager City of Auburn 253-876-1925 AUBURN, Wash. – October 14, 2009 - The City of Auburn will begin making sandbags available to the public beginning Thursday, Oct. 15. Bags will be available at the following dates and times: •Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 12 p.m. until dusk. Les Gove Community Campus, 910 Ninth St. SE. Sandbags will be located at the SE corner of the park, accessible from 12th St. •Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at two locations. Les Gove Community Campus, 910 Ninth St. SE.
