OVER $7,500 IN CASH WILL BE GIVEN AWAY TO CELEBRATE THE REMODELING OF THE IRON HORSE CASINO

Auburn, WA  September 16, 2008 -- On, September 25th, 2008 the Iron Horse Casino located at 333 15th Street N.E. Auburn, WA will officially unveil their newly renovated gaming and entertainment complex to the public. The Auburn Iron Horse Casino has undergone renovations and upgrades to modernize in order to provide an optimum gaming and entertainment experience.

The Grand Re-Opening weekend will commence with “The Grand Re-Opening IHC Employee Appreciation Tournament” on September 25th at 4pm at the casino, after an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony attended by Auburn’s Mayor Pete Lewis.Three tournaments will be held during the next four days.  The first tournament on Thursday September 25th, will award $1,500.00 to the winners. There is a $25 buy-in for the public. The Iron Horse Casino in Auburn will also be drawing names for cash prizes from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on September 25th, 2008.  The festivities will continue with Customer Appreciation tournaments all weekend. Cash prizes in the amount of $2500 will be awarded during a complimentary Poker Tournament on Saturday, September 27th (sign-up at 12 pm), drawings for cash and a Harley-Davidson grand prize entry at 2 pm and 10 pm. On Sunday, September 28th , a complimentary Black Jack Tournament will be held (sign-up at 12 pm) with cash prizes of $2,500.The first 120 players to arrive at the Iron Horse Casino in Auburn to sign-up for either tournament on September 27th and 28th will play complimentary. An appetizer buffet will be provided to the participants both days. 
The Iron Horse Casino in Auburn, famous for the twice yearly Harley-Davidson Motorcycle give-away, offers a mix of table games, Black Jack tournaments, Pai Gow Tournaments and live poker, as well as the Steiner Diner (which features the best breakfast deal in town and a fifties style diner experience), a Fine Dining Restaurant, a lounge and pool room.

Four-and-a-half decades of working for the railroads started with a job carrying the suitcases of strangers. It was the 1940s, and Rodger Campbell was a 16-year-old at Auburn Junior High when he scored a job lugging the travel gear of locals on their way to faraway places. He was paid $6 a day. By the 1950s, Campbell was making a healthy living working for Northern Pacific Railway as a yard clerk. His job: to ensure that trains rolled out of town with the correct cargo.

A new fun run designed for dog owners and their four-legged friends

AUBURN, Wash. – December 18, 2007 - The Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation Department is currently accepting registrations for Auburn’s inaugural 3K Dog Trot Fun Run/Walk, to be held Saturday, May 31 at 9 a.m. The first 100 participants to register will receive a FREE event T-Shirt and goodie bag! The pre-registration fee is $15 per entry. Event day registration is $20 per entry.

Dog Trot is a family-oriented 3K fun run/walk event that takes place in conjunction with Petpalooza at Auburn’s Game Farm Park, 3030 R Street SE. The course is flat, easy and enjoyable for all ages and ability levels. Awards will be distributed to the top participant in five age groups. Child (8 and under); tween (9-12 years); teen (13-19); adult (20-54) and adult (55+).

Along with completed registration form and payment, dog owners are required to show proof of vaccinations at the time of registration. Participants may register at the Parks, Arts & Recreation Office, 910 Ninth Street SE, fax to 253-931-4005 or mail to 910 Ninth Street SE, Auburn, WA 98002.
